Georgia Chapter Archives

Georgia NATS has been in existence as a Chapter since 1962.  In May, 2009, Shawn Puller our Archivist and Pat Callaway our Web Chair were treated to a visit with John Ramsaur and Phoebe Pomeroy of Shorter College who were involved from the beginning.  Shawn will be sharing the history with us as he writes it up, and he will welcome member input.  For starters we tried to put together a list of Georgia presidents.  Here's what we came up with, and we welcome both corrections and information to fill in the blanks.  Contact either Shawn Puller or Pat Callaway.

2005 Run-Off Change of Procedure

Beginning with the Georgia Chapter 2005 auditions, in the large divided classifications, such as Freshman Women, Certificates of Merit and monetary awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will be awarded in each division. 1st place and 2nd place in each division will sing in a run-off with three new judges to determine who will sing as representative for their Category in the Winner’s Concert. Those singing in the run-off will not receive an additional certificate. This should give recognition to more of our students and make the run-offs more efficient.
